There is an inherent beauty in the decay that exists all around us. Buried in the crumbling buildings, unused items, and forgotten places are the stories of lives once lived. The challenge for the photographer is to see past what some think is ugly and uncover the life events represented by the picture in front of them. From there, the photographer must capture the essence of these events in the fraction of a second it takes for the shutter to open and close, thus seizing them before they disappear forever.
